Being such an appealing destination for strangers from all over the globe, security needs to be comprehensive and on full alert. To that end, security firm Certis (a private company that started in 1958 as a unit in the Singapore police force) was tasked to come up with a solution. According to Forbes, Certis devised a system that employs over 5,000 security cameras and sensors, all connected to a central Smart Operations Center to consolidate all incoming data feeds.

It’s here that the system relies on a platform called MOZART, which includes “AI capabilities for analyzing video and other sensor inputs to identify situations requiring operator follow-up.”

Before installing the AI system, Certis security executive Ju Yuong Pang spent a large part of his day doing such routine tasks as figuring out the ideal routes for his security officers to patrol, creating their worksheets and then briefing them before the start of their shifts. But with MOZART’s AI capabilities, Pang now automates the bulk of these tasks.

Security guards now save time, not needing to gather for a meeting just to get their work assignments and briefings. And the fact that an AI-fueled robot named PETER is now on the force too, pulling duty in the parking lot, means human security guards no longer have to endure the fierce heat outside to deal with parking violations.

The entire system works more efficiently thanks to AI handling work that’s easily automated. It leaves higher level security work to the humans on patrol.
